WSN T-shirts and Collectible Items
As always, the WSN student committee features a design on t-shirts and other items to raise money for student travel.
Lodging Information
All workshops, symposia, and contributed paper and poster sessions will be held in the meeting rooms of the Courtyard by Marriott. For driving directions and general hotel information, visit http:www.marriott.com/sanal. The hotel offers, among other things, complimentary shuttle service to and from the San Diego Airport, and complimentary wireless in the hotel. Local chair Matt Edwards has arranged a room rate of $139/night for single and/or double occupancy. These rates will apply until Friday, October 1, 2010. As usual, we strongly advise you to make your hotel reservations as early as possible and well before the meeting, or you may be unable to find accommodations at the Courtyard by Marriott. Regular room rates are much higher ($219 King and $229 Queen) so book your room before they are all taken! We urge all members to stay in the Courtyard by Marriott so that the society can fulfill its room commitment, which will allow us to remain financially solvent.
You can make room reservations via the web at http://cwp.marriott.com/sanal/westernsocietynaturalists/ . Alternatively, you can do it via telephone at 619-221-1900, or 800-321-2211. Ask for the “Western Society of Naturalist” group rate (group code “WSN”). The special discounted rate applies for three days before and after the meeting as well, if you wish to arrive early or depart later. If you wish to take advantage of these pre- or post-meeting special rates, you will need to reserve by telephone; the webpage above only allows reservations from 11-14 Nov.
Refund Policy
If you need to cancel your meeting registration, we will refund 90% of your registration (= registration only) cost if you cancel before the late registration deadline (we need to cover our paypal overhead) and 50% if you cancel after the deadline. Dues are not refundable. Purchases such as banquet tickets and merchandise are not refundable if you request a refund after the meeting has started, as your meal or t-shirt has already been paid for by us. You may arrange to have merchandise sent to you by contacting the student committee. If you have further questions, please contact the Secretariat
